Swamp Meadow Covered Bridge Patch:

The Foster, Rhode Island police patch shown above is a seven-color shoulder patch depicting Foster's Swamp Meadow Covered Bridge.

The Swamp Meadow Covered Bridge is Rhode Island's only covered bridge on a public road.

This forty foot long replica of an authentic nineteenth-century wooden covered bridge was completed in 1994 by an all volunteer crew and built with donated lumber cut from local forests.

To visit the Swamp Meadow Covered Bridge from Route 6, go south on Route 94; turn right on Central Pike.

Purchase a New Patch:

Anyone wishing to purchase a new patch may do so by mailing a self-addressed, stamped envelope and a check or money order for $5.00 for each patch (U.S. funds only), payable to "Foster Police Department" at the following address:
