How can I get a background criminal record (BCI) check?

The Foster Police Department provides background criminal records checks to Foster residents only.  There is a $5.00 for the background checks.

1. You must provide a letter from the agency requesting the fingerprints.
2. A Disclaimer form must be filled out and notarized. This form can be obtained at the front desk. 
3. Please allow 1-2 business days for the paperwork to be processed.
4. If you are a health care worker, the results of the record check will be mailed directly to the requesting agency, and you will receive paperwork indicating that your request is being processed.
