Start / End Dates & Times: Tuesday, April 12, 2022 with proposals due to the Department of Public Works by 2PM, May 2, 2022. INTRODUCTION
The Town of Foster (the “Town”) is soliciting Proposals to construct of the DPW Wash Bay. All construction must meet the specifications of the Conceptual Site Plan provided by JCE, attached to the RFP. The existing building was recently upgraded to three phase electric. All RFP submittals must include an estimated date of completion in addition to the bid amount. Hereinafter, all references to “Contractor” and/or “respondent” shall mean the individual and/or entity providing a response to this RFP.


SCOPE OF WORK & BID FORM
Project (A): Construction of the DPW Wash Bay
Project (A) is to complete construction of and weather-tight the proposed DPW Wash Bay in accordance with the Conceptual Site Plan provided by JCE. To include rough carpentry, waterproofing and moisture protection insulation and chalking, roofing, doors and hardware, overhead doors, wood framing system and exterior sheathing, red cedar siding, ceiling framing and sheathing.
All necessary permits, insurance, including, but not limited to liability and workers’ compensation policies are the sole responsibility of the Contractor. The Contractor shall be in compliance with federal law and the laws of the State of Rhode Island. The Contractor must provide surety bond prior to the start of any work related to this RFP, of not less than the cost of materials plus labor for the completion of all work described herein.

Project (B): DPW Wash Bay Electrical Work
Project (B) is to complete the required electrical work for the completion of the proposed DPW Wash Bay to include mechanical (HVAC), Electrical, and Fire Alarm installation. An electrical installation of
2 subpanel and two (2) 220 and eight (8) 110 interior outlets, eight (8) 110 exterior outlets, eight (8) waterproof interior shop-light lighting fixtures, and three (3) exterior spotlights. HVAC is to be extended from the existing structure into the proposed Wash Bay. Existing electrical within the DPW garage will be extended to provide electrical conduit for the installation of fire alarms in accordance with state fire code. Fire Alarm fixtures must be provided by the bidder.

Company Profile:
1. A description of the respondent company qualifications and size of staff;
2. Certificate of Good Standing from the Rhode Island Secretary of State’s Office or out-of-state equivalent, if the respondent company is not registered with the Rhode Island Secretary of State;


QUALIFICATIONS
A. Minimum Qualifications
To be a qualified bidder, the respondent must have provided similar services to landowners, private entities, municipalities, school department and/or school districts in Rhode Island or New England states.
B. References
Must provide a minimum of 3 client references for similar work completed. References should include sufficient information to ensure easy contact. This should include names, titles, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses.


Disclaimer: Any assignment or transfer of rights under a contract awarded through a Request for Proposals (RFP) process with the Town of Foster must be approved by the Town and/or Council and the transferee/assignee must be approved by the Town Council or other responsible town agency.
