The Department of Public Works provides services to the community in the following areas:

• Snow Plowing and Sanding
• Road Maintenance**
• Stormwater Drainage
• Tree Trimming
• Roadside Grass Mowing
• Solid Waste Collection
• Recycling

**Please call the DPW at 401-702-5011 if you see a pothole on a town road that needs attention, and it will be addressed as soon as possible.

For a State road, please call R.I. Department of Transportation at 401-222-2450 for any maintenence issues. RIDOT website is www.dot.state.ri.us.

Trash & Recycling

• Foster Garbage Routes Listed By Day.

• The Town's disposal company is Rambone Disposal, 401-946-1360.

• If you need a new recycling bin, or stickers to place on additional bins for recycling, you can get them at the Town Hall.

• Items The Central Landfill will accept and Rambone will pick up.

• Items The Central Landfill will accept that need to be dropped off.

• Items The Central Landfill will NOT accept.

Waste Oil Collection

• The Department of Public Works would like to remind everyone that the Department will gladly accept your waste oil from when you change the oil in your car, tractor, or lawn mower. The furnace in the DPW garage is able to burn waste oil for heating so by dropping off your waste oil at the garage you will not only help to protect the environment but also save the Town money on energy costs. Oil can be dropped off at the DPW garage on Foster Center Road anytime during the day (before sunset, please). We only ask that you deliver the waste oil in a sealed container with your name on it and place it in the small shed located to the right of the DPW garage doors. The shed is clearly marked “WASTE OIL"
