IMPORTANT NOTICES

• ATTENTION FOSTER RESIDENTS - CDBG Application
  The Town of Foster is considering the filing of an application for a Rhode Island Community Development Block Grant.  A maximum of $200,000.00 is available to undertake the following range of activities:

  a) Improved housing opportunities for low and moderate income families and individuals.
  b) Provision of employment opportunities for low and moderate income persons.
  c) Provision of community facilities and services principally benefitting low and moderate income families and individuals.

  A public hearing will be held at the Benjamin Eddy Building, 6 South Killingly Road, Foster, RI on February 28, 2013 at 7:00 PM for the purpose of obtaining the views of citizens on community development and housing needs and on program performance. Please click here for a schedule.

  The Benjamin Eddy Building is handicapped accessible.  Those persons requesting interpreter services should contact the Foster Town Clerk at 401-392-9200 no later than 72 hours in advance of the meeting date. The TDD number is 401-392-9211.

  NOTE:  Individuals / organizations who are requesting funding through Foster’s CDBG application will be required to submit their written proposals no later than 4:30 PM on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Foster Town Hall, Attn: CDBG / Planning Department, 181 Howard Hill Road, Foster, RI 02825.

• DOG LICENSE RENEWALS 2013 - All dogs in the Town of Foster must be licensed every year.
  Dog Licenses expire in April. Every dog must have a current rabies certificate to be registered. Registration is $8.00 per dog, cash or check, no credit cards. Licenses may also be purchased by mail or at the Town Hall. Click here for form.

• Hours for Town Hall:  Monday through Thursday, 8:30am - 5:30pm. 
  Closed on Fridays.
  With the adoption of these business hours (Summer 2008), the Town of Foster saved $100 per week in electricity costs. I would like to make it clear that my staff is working the same number of hours per week; the hours are extended hours.

• Please note that recycling bins are free ONLY if you bring in the old ones. If the old ones cannot be provided, there will be a charge: green bins will be $4.50 and blue bins $5.00. "Extra Recycling" stickers to place on any receptacle are always free of charge.
